As Elevate continues to grow, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Accountant to join the team. Working closely with the Controller, the Accountant will prepare and manage the transactions for several businesses under the broader corporate umbrella.

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions. They will balance accounts and subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries, including reconciling bank statements, credit cards, petty cash accounts, and intercompany accounts. The Accountant will process A/P and A/R and ensure that these functions are completed efficiently, with a high degree of accuracy. Other responsibilities will include preparing sales tax remittance calculations and working papers and ensuring compliance with federal, provincial and local legal requirements. As the Controller requires, the Accountant may be included in supporting special projects and other assignments.

To be a success in this role, the Accountant will have a minimum of three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within the real estate or construction industries. You will ideally be proficient in Sage 50 or a similar accounting package such as QuickBooks, Yardi or Timberline. This role requires a strong organizational ability, a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, analysis and problem-solving skills. The role will require the Accountant to work in Port Coquitlam for a standard working week of 40 hours.
