Position: Controller – Royal Bay

Location: Vancouver or Victoria

GableCraft Homes is a dynamic home builder committed to creating safe, sustainable and welcoming communities where families thrive for generations. Using creative site planning, meticulous attention to detail and the highest quality of craftsmanship, we build homes that are inspiring and highly functional, with all the features that modern families need to live their best lives.  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to build a legacy of exceptional GableCraft homes at Royal Bay, just outside of Victoria in Colwood, BC.

The Group of Companies which operates Gablecraft Homes is run by a team of seasoned and respected real estate professionals.  The environment is conducive to knowledge and experience building, career development and exposure to complex and disciplined structure and planning.

As the community is progressing, the need has arisen for a Controller to oversee the Royal Bay development as new role for the company. As part of the project the Controller will oversee the accounting and reporting for land development, house building, townhome projects and the future development of condos on the site. The position will have the opportunity to be based in either Colwood, on site or in the Vancouver office. In the early phases of the position, some time will be required in Calgary to ensure a smooth handover of the process.  Ongoing travel between Vancouver and Colwood will be required

The Controller will also be responsible for building out a local team and developing internal controls for Royal Bay as the accounting function shifts physical locations.  Key duties include:

  • Business planning and forecasting
  • Monthly housing reporting, quarterly project and consolidated reporting
  • Investor reporting
  • Treasury management
  • Financial Analysis and Proforma work
  • Budget reporting

To be a success in this role, you will ideally have a background in public practice and be capable of managing large, complex accounts. You will be hard-working and able to grasp the bigger picture, while carefully managing the day-to-day details. Exposure to real-estate, or an understanding of large, multi-phase development projects is beneficial. You will be able to work cross-functionally across the business, including with project managers and other teams and to manage your workload and delegate to other team members as required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to join a growing business and take ownership over the accounting for a large-scale, multi-phase development. This role offers fantastic flexibility, and the opportunity to work in either Vancouver or Victoria. For more information on the position, please contact Graham Lade at [email protected].
