Gavin Ryan

Founder + CEO

Gavin is the founder and CEO of Taylor Ryan. He is responsible for developing and implementing the vision and strategy for Taylor Ryan’s business, including developing service lines across executive search, permanent placement and contract staffing for the construction and real estate industry. Gavin continues to lead the growth of Taylor Ryan’s business with current office locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and throughout Texas, with more to come!

Over the years, Gavin has held volunteer positions, which include Board Vice-Chair of the Scotiabank Dance Centre, Chair of the Product Council for the Urban Land Institute and the mentorship program at NAIOP Vancouver.

When not working, Gavin can be found making noise on his drum kit, trying to stay healthy in the gym or hiding away with his Kindle and a glass of whisky.

Julie Taylorson

Managing Director & Partner

HR & Compensation Advisory

Julie is a Managing Director at Taylor Ryan with 20+ years of experience partnering with clients to create a positive, and engaging recruitment experience. Specializing in Real Estate Development across the pacific northwest, Julie utilizes her experience supporting clients to attract great people for their business. Julie also leads Taylor Ryan’s HR and compensation advisory practice, providing in-depth insight into real estate compensation.

Over the years, Julie has taken a vested interest in supporting the upcoming generations of the real estate and HR industry and has been involved in mentorship and career management programs for ULI, UDI and HRMA BC & Yukon. Julie also holds Director Positions on two not-for-profit boards.

When not at Taylor Ryan, Julie is a qualified beekeeper and in the summer months helps to manage approx.400,000 bees. If not in the hives, then Julie loves spending time swimming, skiing or with her dog Brinkley.

Ash Holmes

Practice Lead

Real Estate & Executive Search

Ash is a Principal and Practice Lead for Taylor Ryan’s Real Estate Development and Executive Search division. He leads a team of experts focused on delivery of recruitment services for development management, CRE, Accounting + Finance, and all things Executive level for Western Canada. 

Originally from the UK, Ash relocated to Vancouver in 2018. He has 13+ years of recruitment experience and is focused on real estate and construction recruitment for clients across Canada.

Ash is a board member of the Working Gear Clothing Society, based in the Downtown Eastside.

Outside of the office, Ash will often be out running around the city or the mountains and will swap the running shoes for a snowboard in winter.

Kevin Choi

Practice Lead

Construction Management

 Kevin is a Practice Lead with Taylor Ryan and leads the Vancouver Construction Management division. Kevin brings over 9+ years experience in the BC Construction industry. His team works with General Contractors and Developers to find talent ranging from project coordinators, superintendents, project manager, estimators, through to construction directors and VP’s.

Kevin graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors in Political Science and has worked in Toronto and Vancouver. His career includes working directly for a tier 1 developer and extensively with recruitment agency environments. 
 
In his free time, Kevin and his wife enjoy spending time hiking with their dog Junie, while their cat Monkey stays at home.

Sean Feighery

Principal

Construction Management

Seán is a Principal for the Construction & Technical division at Taylor Ryan Executive Search Partners. Sean has been recruiting within Construction and Development for over 7 years. He has helped source Junior to Director level staff for small to large-sized Contractors and Developers across Ireland, the UK and North America.

Seán holds a Bachelors in Business and is a former EMT. He moved here from Ireland five years ago and when not helping source his clients key-level candidates he enjoys Skiing, Muay Thai and Music festivals.

Seán is focused on site management, project management, and development roles.

Alex Dunne

Senior Recruitment Consultant

Accounting & Finance

Alex is a Senior Recruitment Consultant with Taylor Ryan with over 2 and a half years experience in the world of Accounting and Finance recruitment both in Dublin and Vancouver. Alex works closely with both candidates and clients to achieve successful placements that create long lasting relationships. Prior to Taylor Ryan Alex worked with Ireland’s largest recruitment agency on a busy accounting and finance desk specializing in Financial Services roles before relocating to Vancouver last June to fulfill his long time wish of living here.

Since joining Taylor Ryan, he has successfully filled accounting roles from Bookkeeper level all  the way up to Controller level and everything in between. He has managed to build up a network of clients and candidates here and is always happy to add to his network over a phone call or a coffee.

When away from work Alex can more than likely be found either watching or playing football (Soccer). Since moving to Vancouver, he has joined the GFC Lions who compete in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League. He is also a passionate Liverpool fan and often sets 4am alarms to get up and watch them.  

Tim Pearson

Tim Pearson is a Principal, focused on Executive Search at Taylor Ryan, with nearly 20 years of experience and a proven track record of success. Commercially aware and customer-focused Tim has experience across Canada and the UK partnering with renowned organizations looking to secure leading talent for business critical roles. Specializing in CFO, Real Estate, and Construction, Tim maintains deep and long term relationships with the industry’s local leaders and prides himself on delivering for clients on very specific and demanding requirements.

Outside of working life Tim holds broad interests across the Arts and Financial Markets, is a keen Nordic Skier, great cook and loves to travel!

Callum Cookson

Principal

Commercial Real Estate

Callum is a Principal for the Commercial Real Estate Division at Taylor Ryan. Originally from the UK, he has now settled in Vancouver after spending his 20’s living and traveling around the world.

Callum specializes in both commercial and residential real estate, with a focus on Property / Asset Management, Leasing, and Facilities / Operations positions across Western Canada. He plays a pivotal part in both executive and contingent searches, bringing his extensive industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and deep understanding of the real estate sector to help deliver his client outstanding results.

In his spare time, he finds solace and adventure in the mountains. Whether shredding through snow during winter or conquering hiking trails in the summer, Callum’s active lifestyle mirrors the dynamism of the real estate world he navigates. Conor O’Sullivan

Senior Recruitment Consultant

Conor is a Senior Recruiting Consultant at Taylor Ryan specializing in construction and skilled trades. Early in his career, Conor spent three years honing his skills in the construction industry, working as a commercial sandblaster/spray painter gaining understanding of the various trades. This firsthand experience has proven to be a crucial asset in his role as a recruiter, allowing him to connect with candidates on a personal level and assess their skills and potential with a keen eye.

Conor’s recruiting journey began three years ago, and since then, he has excelled in identifying top talent in the construction and skilled trades sector. While he has achieved success across various skill sets, Conor has particularly distinguished himself in the recruitment of electricians and plumbers. His ability to match the right professionals with the right opportunities has contributed significantly to the success of both his clients and the skilled tradespeople he places.

One of Conor’s notable achievements is his track record of successfully recruiting tradesmen from Ireland and the UK. Drawing upon his cultural knowledge and understanding of the international labor market, he has been able to bring in skilled individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the projects they’ve been a part of.

When off the job you can catch Conor playing football, watching the UFC and wasting his money on watches. Conor is also partial to a game of roulette from time to time.

Tommy Thiessen

Thomas Thiessen is a Recruitment Manager for Taylor Ryan’s Construction Trades Division and boasts over six years of specialized experience. With a focus on strategic hiring, Thomas specializes in hiring for trades such as Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, Ironworking, and entry-level Labour, contributing to the shaping of a skilled workforce that meets the dynamic needs of the construction industry.

In addition to professional achievements, Thomas has made significant contributions to the community by volunteering as a coach for both boxing and rugby. A notable commitment is evident in Thomas’ support for the BC Cancer Association’s Daffodil Dash, showcasing a dedication to making a positive impact beyond the professional realm.

Outside of the office, Thomas enjoys spending time with his dog, exploring new countries, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. 

Amy Rankin

Contract & Operations Associate

Amy Rankin is a Contract and Operations Associate at Taylor Ryan Executive Search Partners. With over eight years of experience in administration, data entry, and customer support.

At Taylor Ryan, she supports the operations of the Executive Search and Contract teams, managing invoicing, reporting, and payroll. She also handles client and candidate inquiries, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Amy is committed to providing excellent service to clients and contractors.

Outside of work, Amy cherishes moments with her dog, days spent by the lake, and enjoys the simple pleasures, often with a glass of wine in hand.

Brock Drost

DIRECTOR, CALGARY

Contract Construction Trades

Brock is a Director with Taylor Ryan and leads the team within the Alberta market. Servicing the construction industry for seven years, Brock has an in-depth knowledge of the market. Brock’s team supports developers, general contractors, and subcontractors alike for everything from general labor and trades to site leadership and office staff. 

Brock is an avid participant with the local community. He served on the Meraloma Rugby Club Executive as Secretary and helped the club celebrate its centennial year. He has been involved with the VRCA YCL committee for four years and has been a mentor through Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver for 5 years. With Taylor Ryan’s expansion into Alberta, Brock is becoming an active participant in the CCA and ECA communities. 

When he isn’t helping clients hit project deadlines, Brock is often spending his time at the gym, playing rugby, or trying the latest sour beer from a local brewery

Daniela Gomez

Senior Recruitment Consultant

Real Estate

Daniela Gomez is a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Taylor Ryan, bringing over 4 and a half years of diverse experience in recruitment. With a dynamic background encompassing most verticals within the real estate and construction industries, Daniela now specializes in fostering talent in the realms of development and marketing.

Having lived in various regions including the US, Europe, Mexico, and Canada, Daniela brings a multicultural perspective to her work.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Daniela is an Aquatics Volunteer at the MNP Community & Sport Centre in Calgary. Additionally, she is an avid dog lover and spends her days surrounded by furry companions through dogsitting. In her leisure time, she finds joy in staying active, whether it’s attending spin or yoga classes, Barry’s workouts, boxing sessions, or lifting weights at the gym. She also enjoys exploring the landscapes of Banff and Kananaskis through hiking and indulging in her guilty pleasure of ordering from DoorDash.

Matt Hall

Managing Director

Matt is the Managing Director of Taylor Ryan’s Toronto office. He is responsible for developing, leading and overseeing our Specialist Real Estate and Construction Staffing Businesses across the Ontario region.
With 19 years continuous recruitment industry experience across four countries, Matt brings a wealth of experience in hiring, training and growing a wide variety of staffing teams and business units.

Over the years Matt has been active within many philanthropic groups and charities, as well as youth organizations.
 
In his personal time, Matt regularly participates in martial arts and heavy resistance training. He also enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, snowboarding and experimenting with VR & AI.

Christin Hall

Principal

Real Estate

Christin Hall is a Principal Consultant with 7 years of experience in recruitment of Real Estate Development, Investment and Asset Management talent. With an educational focus in Finance and established network in the industry she applies her in-depth background and full commitment to every assignment.

Christin leads all retained searches for Taylor Ryan’s real estate team in Toronto with special attention to executive level roles. Further, she has experience in contingent and confidential searches and built her client and candidate base on referrals and repeat business.

Outside the work setting she can be found hiking with her two dogs, traveling, or completing a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Originally from Germany, she speaks multiple languages, has traveled over 20 countries and has a passion for scuba diving and sailing.

Jamal Grant

Recruitment Manager

Construction Management

Jamal is a Recruitment Manager with Taylor Ryan and specializes in construction management across the Ontario market. Prior to joining Taylor Ryan, Jamal spent the majority of his professional career in the fitness industry managing fitness clubs and helping people change their lives – a value that continues in the role of recruitment consultant.  

Jamal specializes in recruiting construction professionals (site superintendents, project managers, project coordinators, estimators, business development managers, and health and safety managers) for general contractors, construction management firms, and developers.

Outside of Taylor Ryan, Jamal focuses his energy as a lead in youth player development with Jays Care and as an Assistant Coach with the Leaside Baseball Organization.

Angela Covington

Managing Director

Construction & Real Estate

Angela is a Managing Director at Taylor Ryan with over 15 years of experience in the recruitment space. What started as recruiting and hiring candidates for an Oil and Gas firm in Texas, lead to working with a nationwide recruitment firm specializing in Multifamily and Commercial Real Estate for both contract work and executive placement. She has worked with clients all across the United States and even into Canada and Mexico. Angela is now spearheading the launch of Taylor Ryan in the US with a focus on Construction and Real Estate.

During her expansive career in Real Estate she has been an active member of BOMA International and has been a guest speaker on many panel discussions ranging from talent recruitment to retaining quality employees, and overcoming future challenges as it pertains to hiring, training, and mentoring green candidates to the industry.

When not making jokes and working, Angela is addicted to the sunshine (like a true Texas native should be), is a novice cactus and succulent farmer, and thoroughly enjoys reading a paperback book (no better smell than freshly printed pages) with her favorite glass of Cabernet in hand. Last and certainly not least, she loves spending time at beach with her husband, daughter Isabella, and two Australian Shepherds, Wiggles and Willow.

Cindy Morris Redman is a Principal Consultant at Taylor Ryan. She holds a decade plus of recruiting experience and focuses within Executive Search and Recruitment for Construction Management in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Partnering with General Contractors, Owner/Developers and Builders, Cindy provides industry expertise and understanding to match client needs with the best talent. Continued repeat clients, and long term candidate relationships, is what she enjoys most about her job.

Cindy is involved in not-for-profit organizations: Alzheimer’s Association and Lung Cancer Foundation of America.

When not at Taylor Ryan she spends time with her two children, two dogs, and two cats. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and anything interior design/fashion related.
